Back to Normal

Many thanks to the folks at Bloglines who took the time to comment on my previous post. As it turns out, I didn't actually have to do anything. The list showed back up on my blog without any intervention from me. And the list at Bloglines itself is working just fine as well. It just seemed to be a temporary hiccup of sorts. All is back to normal now! :)

I'm still working on PIG and the LHN series, but I have gotten somewhat sidetracked from my stitching recently. You see, I am trying to get a bit of a business started. Really, it's just an extension of my hobbies, but I'm planning to sell, so I guess that makes it a business. LOL I'm working on soaps and jewelry at the moment, but I reserve the right to change my mind later. ;)

Lately the focus is soap, as I try to come up with just the right recipe. I'm already pretty close! Next will come scents. Any suggestions?

My first batch turned out quite nicely. It's honeysuckle scented. No color was added, because I wanted to see what the 'natural' color would be. I rather like it! I'm doing very small batches, until I get it just right. This one made 12 bars-- three of each one shown here.

Well that's some nice looking soap! I love the sun...I bet honeysuckly smells really good! My personal favorite scent is Lemon. It's invigorating, citrus"ie", clean smell just makes me smile. I love the Bath and Body works pharmacy "lemon" body cream...I slather it on by the gallon and its not cheap...but I smell so darn good! Or at least I think I do.
Kudos to you Juanita for following a dream *and so soon in 2007*! :)

What beautiful soap! This is your first batch? Wowzie! My only scent suggestion is...please consider unscented for those of us who are sensitive to them. I like the natural color, too. I hope your business is successful!

Beautiful soap! The natural color is pretty. I love all scents but my favorite lately has been fruit flavors and light floral scents.

Your soap is lovely. I have made soap with my daughter, but it doesn't look like that-lol. I love vanilla scented soaps.

I'm not sure if you've 'met' Carol over on Stitchin Addiction blog ... she's a great soap maker and might be able to share some tips? :D

The soaps sound like a fun project. I suggest lavender it's just timeless and for good reason.
Have fun, CJ

Wow, you clever person! I'm loving the look of the soaps - is there no end to your talents?! I recommend Bergamot - that would be great to wash with in the mornings, as I find washing with Bergamot soap really wakes you up! xx

Lovely...I'm afraid scented soaps are one of my weaknesses! I particularly like Lilac. Honeysuckle is another favorite. Earthy Woodsy stuff is nice too.

I am sure there will be no problems selling your soaps they look great.
Good Luck

The soaps are so cute! Scentwise, I think lavendar, musk, sandalwood, or amber all sound good. Good luck on your venture.
