SBQ - 4/30/08

This week's SBQ is from Jennifer:

Do you have any pieces that you would liked passed on to future
generations as family heirlooms?

Well, yes... all of them!! Everything I've stitched, or that has been stitched for me, has a special significance to me. That said, I don't that any of them will become family heirlooms. I don't have children... and I'm not going to have them in the future. And I have no siblings, which means no nieces or nephews. I do have a very large extended family, though, and some of them may appreciate my stitching after I'm gone.

I just hope none of my stitching ends up at a yard sale.

Even if it does end up at a yard sale, maybe somebody will buy it to enjoy in their homes :-)

I don't have children, either, with no plans to ever have any. My family is small and the one person (my sister-in-law) who I think would appreciate any pieces I have is estranged from me. So, yeah, mine are probably destined for an estate sale.

Juanita, I would hate for anyone's work to end up at a yard sale just for the sole reason that all the hours of stitching should be enjoyed by someone that loves you and will remember you everytime they look at something you made with you own hands.

I have 2 sons and a daughter and 5 sisters, you better believe one or all of them will get my pieces regardless if they love or hate them. lol

Someone in your extended family I'm sure would love to have your stitching! :)
