PIG has been woefully neglected. I still haven't managed to finish Part 4, and Part 5 arrived last week. It's all beads and will be very slow going, I'm sure. I went ahead and started a bit of it, even though Part 4 isn't yet finished. I figure I have a better shot at getting it all done if I can switch between beading and regular stitching. Here's what it looked like as of August 31.
I haven't done much work on it since then, just a few beads for Part 5. Mostly, I've been sewing like a madwoman, though my finished sewing projects don't reflect that.
The first thing that I finished was a pair of pants. They're not nearly as huge as they look... maybe it's the cropped length that makes them appear so wide? The fit of these is extremely flattering, and there will be more to come before our departure on Friday. I sewed up a second pair of these today, in a lovely brown/black fabric. They were much dressier looking, but unfortunately the fabric was extremely itchy, so they will not be making the trip. I didn't even bother putting the zipper in. :( I have fabric for 3 more pair... wonder how many I'll finish?
I also made this top. I couldn't resist this batik fabric when I saw it on my first trip to the fabric shop.
I also added some decorative stitching to the hem of this one. I thought it was cute, but the reality is that I hate fiddling with blind hemstitches, and this was much easier to do.

I'm impressed by your sewing skills!
both your top and pants are wonderful. Hope you have a fantastic time on the cruise!
I think your PIG looks fantastic!!! I can sympathize with all the beading on a Chatelaine project! I spent all weekend beading MTM - but now the entire project is finally finished - sigh of relief!!!!!!! I am glad I didn't start PIG with the group, although I do get the charts... I would be so overwhelmed! YOu are doing great!
Have a great time on your cruise. I'm envious of your sewing abilities - wow!
Your clothes are so cute!!! Nice little embellishment on the batik too! Enjoy your cruise...just think when you get back...it will be time for Hershey!!!! What a fun month you are having..and no work to boot!
Wow, you've really gotten a lot done on PIG!! You're a lovely seamstress also it seems. Have a wonderful time on your cruise.
Your PIG project looks great!! I thinks it's a good idea to rotate between part 4 and 5. Otherwise the beading micght be a little too intimidating!
Have fun in your cruise!
Your clothes look fantastic! Have a great time on your cruise.
I love that shirt!!! Hmmm, I have to go to a wedding in the Virgin Islands next summer....will you make ME some pretty tropical clothing?!?!? hehehehe I really must get brave enough to try sewing something like this on my machine.
Beautiful progress on PIG and I love your top you made - too cute!!
Love the clothes you make, esp the top! DH is getting me a sewing machine soon too, so I too might join the sewing bloggers, instead of 'just' decorative stitching. You never know....
Come over and see my web-place sometime.=)
